What are Analog and raw log statistics?
Raw log statistics are files that store minute details of web site traffic and visitor information (i.e., which browsers were used most often to view your web pages). You need an analysis program to interpret the log files and put them into easy-to-read statistical reports. With access to your account's raw logs, you can choose any analysis program that suits your needs.

Tivilon runs your raw log files through an analyzer tool for you, called Analog. Analog measures the usage on your web site. It compiles all of the data stored in the raw log files, and reports which pages are most popular, which countries people are visiting from, which sites they tried to follow broken links from, and all sorts of other useful information. Analog is also the most popular log file analyzer program in the world. To learn more and see a sample report, visit the Analog web site.

How do I get to my site's Analog or raw log statistics?
To get to your Analog stats file (which compiles the last seven days of site statistics), go to http://www.domain.com/logs in your web browser, replacing domain.com with your domain name.

To access your raw log files, you'll need to FTP into your web site. Once logged in, go into the /logs directory, then go into the W3SVC# directory. Once in there, you can download the raw log files to your PC for viewing. (If you are running your logs through your own analysis program, you'll need to download the log files to your PC before doing so).

How often are my stats updated?
Raw log statistics are live data, constantly growing with each and every hit to your site. Analog statistics are generated at 2 AM ET each day for the previous seven days.

How do I save my site's Analog or raw log statistics locally?
Once you have your Analog stats file open in your web browser, simply go to File, Save As on your browser's toolbar. To save your raw logs locally, you'll need to FTP into your site and download them using your FTP application.

Do my site's Analog or raw log statistics count toward my site disk space?
Yes, they do. The higher the traffic is to your web site, the larger these files will be. It is important that you remove older raw log stats files on a regular basis.

How do I remove my Analog or raw log statistics from my site?
You do not need to remove your Analog statistics from your web site, as the file is written over with a new copy every day. To remove your raw log files, log into your web site via FTP and select the files you'd like to remove and click delete. Once you remove these files they are gone for good. There are no backup copies of these files. Also, be sure to leave the last seven days of raw log data in the logs directory, so that the Analog file has data to report on.

How can I run my raw log files through a different analysis tool, other than Analog?
Yes, simply download your raw log statistics to your PC. From there, you can run the files through an analyzer tool of your choice.

Can I password protect my stats directory?
Simply contact the Tivilon Support Team to get password protection put in place for your stats directory. Note that the username and password assigned must be the same as your login information for your web site.
